When did you start making music?
I remember writing songs and singing them in my bedroom when I was eight years old. Always had a passion for performing and singing since I was young but never had the platform to showcase that side of me until 2008.
When would you say you entered the music industry?
I released my first single in 2009 which was a Zimbabwe Tourism marketing song called”My Zimbabwe “. Then from there I went on to collaborate with Buffalo Souljah on “hey lover”,SA’s Da LES on “should never leave”, Nigeria’s Solid Star on “higher” and also released another single of mine called “do me”…My last release was with L-tido and AB Crazy “Agenda”
How did the collaboration with L-tido and Ab Crazy come about?
Well L-tido has been an industry friend since 2011 so when we sent him the song , he said he loved it we exchanged a few verses then he went on to record his verse. I met AB Crazy when I was about to wrap up my last verse in Thaiwanda’s studio where he had come to see Buffalo Souljah,I asked him right away if he could jump on the track then he agreed. Then,Boom!my song Agenda was complete !!
If you had to collaborate with a Zimbabwean female vocalist who would it be and why?
I would love to work with Tererai Mugwadi I think she is a phenomenally talented songstress and her voice sends shivers down my spine. It’s Angelic!!!
Do you both write the songs that you perform and record or do you have a designated writer?
I write my songs… Because at the end of the day you want to sing about things that you can easily comprehend, and songs that are true to you, that’s the only way the music can have soul in it.
What do you think local artists have to do for their videos to be aired on Channel O, MTV Base and Trace?
It’s not easy getting music videos aired on Channel O,Mtv Base and Trace. So I really thank the man above, God for giving me the platform to market my work on these DSTV channels .So my advise to my fellow Zimbabwean artists is we should take our work seriously and not compromise on quality.Let’s not make half baked cookies, we need to create high quality videos which have a script , DPO and professional Director etc .
Are you still modeling or your doing music full time?
Yes I still do modeling but now it’s part time, modeling is in my blood.
Who is your inspiration?
My inspirations are the late Aaliyah and Brenda Fassie.
Who are your top 5 Zim artists?
What do you dislike about fame?
The hardest thing about fame is people tend to think are not human, so they expect you to be close to perfect in a way ?whether it’s how you look and how you act.
What have you learnt about pursuing your dreams?
It takes God,hard work , persistence and determination. I know how it is to feels to have people not take you seriously.I have been there but what I can say is it only pushes you to try harder. I don’t believe in giving up but learning from your mistakes!
What has been the highlight of your career so far?
Wow… I’m still on my grind I need a Channel O Award!!
Are you seeing anyone?
I’m taken lol
Who is your Zimbo celeb crush?
If you were president for one day what would you change and why?
I wouldn’t change much I just want Zimbabweans to be “United”, spread love , support each other and not hate!
Any words of wisdom to the youth of Zimbabwe?
If you have a dream and strongly believe in it,hold on to it, and don’t let anybody discourage you! Above all let God guide you!
