Marshall Munetsi makes ligue 1 team of the week

Warriors midfielder Marshall munetsi has every reason to be proud of himself after an assured performance against title contenders Olympique Lyon has seen him being included in the French ligue 1 team of the week which was released today.

Munetsi was influential for his Stade Reims who led 1 nil only to have their efforts quashed right at the brink of full time when Zimbabwean forward Tinotenda Kadewere rose high in the box top head home an injury time equaliser which handed Olympique Lyon a vital point. Marshal Munetsi was outstanding in the game resulting in him being drafted in the French ligue team of the week.

Munetsi is among key players that are set to miss Zimbabwe’s Afcon qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia owing to covid-19 travel complications. The gigantic midfielder has been linked with a possible move to England owing to his ever growing profile in France.

Munetsi kickstarted his football journey at Ali Sundowns before turning out for Friendly Academy which is owned by Patridge Muskwe. From Friendly Academy Munetsi then moved to South Africa where he eventually found himself turning out for Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
