Napoleon Nyanhi (Napstar) Takes On American Radio On Veteran Rickey Smiley’s Show
Are we proud or are we proud right now?! Napoleon Nyanhi better known as Napstar is making the most of his YALI opportunity. Between attending all the training programs Napoleon got to do what he does best radio….in America!
Napstar appeared on Ricky Simley’s Morning Show which is one of the biggest black radio morning shows in America hosted by renowned comedian Rickey Smiley to speak about the Fellowship and of cause music.
Like the radio master he is, Napoleon was right at home and comfortable. We love that he represented his station, StarFM giving a shout-out on air so don’t be surprised when StarFM gains American listeners.
“I met Da Brat at Ricky’s studio who is the co-host of the morning show. I also met Teddy Riley one of the biggest producers of the 90s. With Grammys under his belt, he talked to me about his ambitions for Africa and Zimbabwe in particular”, Napstar told us.
As excited as he was to meet radio legends, we love that Napstar didn’t forget to promote Zimbabwean artists and music. When asked who Americans should look out for in terms of Zim hip hop music he mentioned Oliver Mtukudzi as everybody should, Simba Tagz, Tehn Diamond and Junior Brown.
Napstar was accompanied by animator Tino Makoni and TV Yangu’s Munya Bloggo. These are the young leaders we celebrate, young leaders who are always representing all the youth wherever they go. Great job Napstar!
